Los Angeles is heralded as the city of dreams, but for most, the city is a living nightmare divided by gang violence, oppression, and the trappings of everyday life. The silver lining is everyone tries to attain the finer things in life the only way they know how and by any means. Enters G Perico an LA native that puts his transgressions, aspirations, and copious amount of confidence to make it out of the abyss on wax. G perico kicks off the lp with “Power”, gauging in the LA lifestyle that succumb so many, but this is his means of survival, and he does not plan on letting anything slip his grasp. All blue is filled with a slew of west coast house party hits. Seldom, G perico gets to reflect on his life with tracks like “alive tonight” where he would admit that prior to being incarcerated he would laugh, until he arrived and was asked to assume the search position. The rhymes are remnants of 90’s gangsta rap lore, continuing on the tradition of a dj quik or a suga free. All blue epitomizes gangsta rap as a whole and could be on a major comeback with an already bustling raw talent on the west coast.
