No im actually originally from Irvington, New Jersey
Your real name is tialer, can you tell us how the name Flockaland came about?
Well to make a long long long story short I randomly came up with Flockaland when I was in California for the first time and I always liked Waka because his music just kept me turnt and we’re from the same area Clayton County … same area = land so that’s how I came up with Flockaland.
Atlanta music scene seems to be growing day by day, how did you get yourself in position in Atlanta’s music circle?
A lot of people that are popping now I knew them when they had very little followers and fans. I would always be that girl that would support everyone I knew that would work hard and go after their dreams. So now that I have my own thing going on it’s really a friendship/business relationship I have with certain people in Atlanta.
How did you know what event to attend? Did you find it hard to keep up with the multiple event Atlanta provides?
I’m not really sure I just always knew where the turnup was either people tell me about it, I peep it somewhere on social media, or I just know the people who are throwing the events and they keep me in tune. It’s not really hard to keep up with the events here to me especially if I know which ones I want to go to or are worth going to.
What is it about Atlanta that it seems it consistently cultivates some of the best music talent in the industry?
Atlanta music never stops evolving and the support system is so big here people from the outside always wonder how we do it. It all starts with support and believing in people and expanding your artistry and pushing yourself and I think that’s what Atlanta has aside from anywhere else to be honest.
Who are some of your favorite new artist right now? And what artist should we be looking out for?
Some of my favorite artist in Atlanta are Yachty, Abra from Awful Records and Tokyo. Look out for them too but there’s other artists I’m peeping like Brian Brown & Johnny Balik out of Tennessee and a local here by the name of Jaixx all wavy & different sounds.
We noticed you have a clothing line called stay (+) what was your inspiration to start the brand? How did you get started with the brand?
My inspiration behind the brand is really scientific with an atom in the protons neutrons and electrons and with a lot of things that happen in my life positivity was something no one could take away from me. I started in 2013, got my first hat done in the mall, posted it online, got money and flipped it and been doing it ever since.
what is the philosophy behind the movement?
Stay (+) is about living life staying positive not letting any negativity get in the way of following your dreams. It’s also about positive affirmation and remaining headstrong during trials.
Do you have a team that helps with the designs for the brand, or do you create the designs yourself?
I don’t have a team I had someone help me for a while and someone made one design but I don’t have a team like I want to.
You’ve gotten to share your message with multiple artist from indie & A- list and many other celebs, what was that like for you?
Meeting celebrities and being with artists is cool it makes me happy and it really gives me this high energy that makes me want to go for more because honestly, it doesn’t make me feel accomplished it just really shows what I can do and how I can keep continuing to contact these people with my message.
Between modeling and putting together events & hosting events which is harder and which is your favorite to do and why?
Putting together events is the most stressful thing ever. Hosting events is so much easier I just show up, get drinks, hype the crowd up and have fun, make connections, get paid and go home lol. Modeling is kind of easy it’s not my forte but I do it.
Owning your own clothing line, modeling, hosting and event planning can be a lot for one person, who/what inspires you and motivates you?
First and foremost God, Jehovah really just keeps me sane. Then I have friends who are in the industry that keep me going it’s only like two of them but I appreciate them. Can’t forget my family.. I’m my mom and grandma are my rocks. And I appreciate my normal friends who just do normal things with me and don’t talk about anything industry with me.
What advice would you give to those interested in entrepreneurship/personal branding?
My advice to anyone taking on entrepreneurship you really can’t give up because if you give up you’re labeling yourself as a failure and failures don’t accomplish anything and don’t make money. Aside from the money failures just don’t, I’m my opinion, want to live. I came here to live, for myself.
If you could put together any music event with any artist dead or alive who would you have in the line up?
My top ultimate music lineup would be Michael Jackson, Anita Baker, Earth wind and fire, future, Beyoncé, Cudi and Bryson Tiller lol
What can we expect from Flockaland and your stay (+) brand in 2016
You can expect no less than greatness coming from Stay (+) ’16. I don’t tell anyone my plans lol but I have a few things up my sleeve.
